This is such a size *exclusive* round up of jeans. I feel exhausted after clicking through it. (I did see the single pair of madewell jeans featured that come in bigger sizes). Before kids I was a size 29 jean and fit into everything and felt good. I took for granted that I could shop everywhere. Several years and 3 kids later, I am several sizes bigger and wow, it sucks! The first three pair of jeans I clicked on don’t come in larger than a 31 or 32 (???) and the next brand only sells a small medium large? There’s no reasons for brands to not expand into larger sizes except that they only want thin people wearing their clothes. Something I’ve seen some people doing that I think would be really helpful for next time - note the sizes the brand carries so that people don’t need to constantly click on links and feel disappointed.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Clare!! We are just dipping our toes into how to create fashion content that feels fun and inclusive for everyone and this is very helpful feedback.

Truly feel you on this. I was a 29 before babies too, and now I’m a 33-34. I’m mostly ok-ish with my different body, but it is really frustrating feeling excluded! There’s one brand I won’t name whose size “large” pants boast a 28-30” waist measurement 🙄

Frame Denim makes the best jeans anywhere IMO, and goes up to a 34 in most styles.

There’s also a very small Vancouver brand called Harly Jae that makes beautiful (and comfy) wide-leg pants in sizes up to 2X.

Decade Studio is another denim brand I’ve heard really good things about, haven’t tried their jeans myself though.

I’m so glad that you shared shoe suggestions because that’s been the toughest part of wide-leg pants for me. I also want to say that I love the archives section. Those recipes plus Saturday’s gets me through four days of deciding what to have for dinner each week which is a life saver.

it's seriously the hardest part! all of my shoes look dorky with them. i'm realizing i need pointed toe/elongated toe box flats, not round toe flats!

and i'm SO GLAD that section is helpful. i love it too!!

Thank you so much for this wide-leg styling tutorial! Is there a unicorn pair for shorties (under 5'1") who really can't wear high-waist pants and are pear-shaped/have bigger thighs? I feel like finding pairs that fit my hips and thighs make me look wide and stumpy, and it feels like almost everything is high-waisted right now. Send recs!

I feel you on this, Michele — I'm a pear-shaped shortie too!! This sounds crazy but I found that Abercrombie's *low-rise* ultra baggy jean actually fits my shape well - and it comes in a variety of "short" and "extra short" sizes: https://bit.ly/3BKlCfx. The "low rise" isn't the low rise we all remember from the 2000s lol - it sits on my actual waist compared to a high-rise fit. I wish I'd sized down one size because they stretch out, but really love mine! I also really enjoy these, which come in a curvy petite option. https://bit.ly/3BKlCfx

Thank you so much! Will check these out! (Also it cracks me up that low-rise is now at our waists....high-rise jeans basically hit my bra.)

Ruti has a very nice barrel leg that hits at the natural waist or lower, very roomy and comfortable. I'm 5'1"-2" and didn't even have to hem the petite length.

Does anyone have advice for those of us staring down a lot of snow this winter? Love the wide leg/boyfriend jeans but struggle with how to pair them with something practical for snow/slush/ice!

This is a real challenge for me too! I really feel like I have to go with a slightly cropped jean for winter. I remember too vividly the feeling of soaking wet jean bottoms and crunchy, salty hems - never again! I pair with any number of shorter boots. The Everlane “Jean” section is good inspiration, I think, as it’s not a whole bunch of open toed sandals and flats. I’m sure a cropped jean isn’t elongating my legs, but it’s definitely more comfortable. I wear with cute winter socks and clogs if it’s just cold but not truly snowy. Before winter I pair them with loafers, and I think a slightly cropped jean looks cute with a sneaker showing just a bit of ankle too.

Thank you for including me in discussion! It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one who has struggled to 1) wear wide leg pants, and then on top of that 2) finding the right shoes for them!

I love wide like pants. I’m so over skinny jeans. My favorite brand is Kut from the Kloth. I just got home from Dillards and I couldn’t find my size so I got a brand called Nature by Westbound and they are so cute and so comfortable. They feel like pajamas they were only $69.

I just recently hopped on the barrel jeans bandwagon (loving the Madewell Dart-Barreled jeans!) and have been having this same internal convo! So far my Birkenstock clog dupes from Kohl’s, Doc Maarten Chelsea boots, and Nike Dunks (low) have been working perfectly! And I like that there’s a good rotation between three very different types of shoes so it makes the outfit versatile and never stale!

Thank you for this. I’ve been questioning my shoe choices with wide leg pants for a year now 🤦🏻‍♀️ LOVE these recs. I bought some wide leg pants at target and I loved them so much I got them in three colors. Basically all I wear now. Fffff skinny jeans!

The Everlane utility straight leg pant is great for a newbie wider leg gal. I like to wear them with bluntstones.

This is insanely helpful!!! I too have been so confused on what shoes to wear with wide leg jeans! THANK YOU! Also - I also just finished The Women this week (taking a break from Throne of Glass before I start the finale ☺️) and my mind was blown. Can’t stop thinking about it and how I knew so little about this war and what people went through.
