This is AMAZING! One sub question: there's a weird regional shortage of Boursin in the Northeast - is anything a similar sub? (Goat cheese with herbs or something?) THANK YOU xoxox

6 ounces of Legit any cheese + 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 tsp dried oregano or herbes de Provence.

I LOVE Seaside Market - I make a similar tri-tip marinade from an old Sunset magazine. Everything looks amazing, thank you!

Boursin risotto?! Oh HELLO why have I never thought of this before?!

Thank you for this brilliant plan. My tenderloin is on order (my gem of a local market practically gives it away at Christmas for $10.99/lb.) Your recipe (and also the slider idea) is perfect!! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜˜

Wait that is so cool they do that!!!!

Do you (or any commenters) have a picture of the cream cheese and pepper jelly? I love how this app tastes but always hesitate to serve because I feel the block oโ€™ cream cheese look isnโ€™t quite as appreciated by my San Francisco guests as might have been by the people I grew up with in the South (who obviously understand what theyโ€™re being blessed with ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Caroline Chambers's avatar

I'm serving it tomorrow so I'll post it!! Basically get a plate. Smoosh it into a thin layer covering the plate. Top with jelly.

Yay! Thanks for responding! Planning to serve on Saturday ๐Ÿ˜‹

LOVE THIS thank you! The make-ahead plan is going to be so useful!

Any changes needed if using 2 smaller tri tip roasts to get to 3-4 lbs? Would cook time be based on the weight of the each piece?

Caroline Chambers's avatar

yes, less cook time! that's exactly why i said 11 minutes per pound -- so that you can figure it out based on what you find at the store! xoox

I feel personally supported and gifted with the carrots as that has been my frequent request for a recipe/dupe (looking at you ABC Kitchen). Thank you Santa Caro!!!

Everything looks so good. I think I'll have to try the risotto and the carrot dish. I love risotto but never attempted it because it sounded like so much work.

You will freak over how easy this is!!!
