I just finished Emily Henry’s new book, Funny Story, and I loved it so much and am sad it’s over. Great beach read vibes but still smart, and a great mix of romance and friendship stories-would highly recommend!
I just started reading Beach Read by Emily Henry after finding it in a little free library. A bit on the nose for a summer rec, but delightfully breezy all the same. For something a *little* toothier, I always return to The Prince of Tides, which I loved so much after the first read many years ago that I couldn’t read anything else for a week or two.
I love so many of Elin Hilderbrands books! The winter in paradise series was my gateway drug to reading all of them. I also LOVED Every Summer After by Carley Fortune and can’t wait to read her new one.
I came across this interview with Robinne accidentally, while wondering whether she was on Substack. I have a book called Just Like A Movie coming out next year with Empress Editions that I wrote a long time ago – even before Robinne wrote The Idea of You – which I love! about a 40 year-old, recently divorced woman who is moving to Ibiza to step into her creative self, and who finds herself seated next to the most famous pop star in the world. My book is a romcom but, like in Robinne's book, the friendships between the in the story women are also super important. And now I don't know why I'm telling you this (!!) other than I was looking for Robinne on here because I admire her writing, and I was fascinated by your conversation and could relate to a lot of the issues she spoke about because my book has been through so much to get where it is now – and we're not there yet!!!
I'm looking forward to Robinne's next book and have obviously preordered it.
Maybe next year, closer to my release date, you and I will get a chance to talk! I'd love that so much!
I've just finished listening to Yesteryear, and it is amazing. The end blew my mind. Have you read it?
