Thanks for the sneak peak of your book! I love that the entire recipe is on one page, what a great idea. Who wants to flip pages when your hands are messy lol. Iโ€™m getting so excited for my book to arrive!! Canโ€™t wait to make this recipe asap!

Looks so yum! Going to try this out on our blackstone tomorrow!

Caroline Chambers's avatar

Ok I need a boackstone.

Victoria S's avatar

You do!! Made these on our blackstone and they were SO GOOD. That burger sauce!!!! I used smoked sea salt instead of just regular sea salt because my husband and I are Smokey fiends and it was so so good!

Caroline Chambers's avatar

yummm the maldon one??

Victoria S's avatar

No, Iโ€™ve had that one and itโ€™s so good though. This was from Oaktown Spice Shop in Oakland (bestie lives up there). Love that little shop.

I am so excited for this book! And to see you in NYC!!

Caroline Chambers's avatar

Ahhh cannot wait for NYC!!!

Sarah R's avatar

I made this tonight FROM MY BOOK and it was everything I dreamed of! Being able to put my phone away and keep it put away for the afterschool-dinner-bed routine IS A GIFT and I thank you profoundly!

Now, my kids did not love this but they are super picky so their experience holds little sway with me. But my hubs did (and me!) โ€ฆ And it got me to try turkey burgers again because my first and second attempts years ago were no bueno. The mayo is the key (Iโ€™m a dukeโ€™s gal, personally). The burgers were not quite done after 4 min per side but they were verging into black territory, so i just threw them in the oven which was already preheated for the buns for about 3/4 min and that did the job. Chefโ€™s kiss!

Caro, you are a gem, a delight and Iโ€™ll see you in ATL (with my extra copies for you to sign).

Caroline Chambers's avatar

I can't believe people are cooking from the BOOOK AHHHHH. Next time smoosh the patties a little thinner so they cook faster. YAY SEE YOU IN ATL

Tove Tupper Lewis's avatar

Iโ€™m making a double batch of burgers tonight & brining the extra to my neighbors who just had a new baby! Can you please go back to adding the ingredient amount in the instructions? That is so very helpful as youโ€™re cooking in the moment. Thank you!

Caroline Chambers's avatar

Woops, my editor is on maternity leave and that was just an oversight with my temp! Will add :)

Hillary Powell's avatar

Made them with leftover pimento cheese mixed in since I had just made the pimento BLT and so good!

Jennifer Harris's avatar

Made these again, such a stellar recipe! Great on the blackstone. Who knew a turkey burger could be so yum!

Jillian from What to Cook's avatar

OK I'm really wanting a Blackstone - are you loving it???

Jennifer Harris's avatar

We love it. Itโ€™s a little intimidating at first it once you use it a few times the seasoning is excellent and cleanup is a breeze!

Jillian from What to Cook's avatar

OK I love hearing about the easy cleanup part!!

Katie J's avatar

Just cooked these are they are delicious!!!โ€ฆBUT we ended up with bowls instead of burgers b/c the patties absolutely fell apart. They were so wet. Is the recipe missing an egg or breadcrumbs maybe?? I did use ground chx instead of turkey, could that have caused the issue.

Also cooked up your herby potatoes from the past summer as a side, those are our go to delish summer side dish.

Caroline Chambers's avatar

Ok love that they were delicious but don't love to hear about them falling apart!!! Did you grill or use skillet? If grill, did you make sure it was piping hot and totally clean?

Katie J's avatar

I used a cast iron skillet. I thought about grilling them but was worried theyโ€™d fall through the grill grates b/c of how wet they were.

Tove Tupper Lewis's avatar

I have two tricks to making patties with ground turkey or chicken. First, get your hands a little wet as you make the patties. It helps keep the stickiness at bay. Then, pop them in the freezer on a cookie sheet for 15-20 mins. That will help them stay firm as you cook them up.

Abby's avatar

I used both your tips and they worked perfectly! Thank you so much!

Kelly's avatar

I used ground chicken and they crumbled totally upon flip! Maybe turkey would be better?

Molly Tutt's avatar

I (somehow?? Magically??) got my book yesterday and Iโ€™m in love already!! Amazing work on this and so happy to have it in my hands!!

emilyb's avatar

Intentionally-not-hot-tip: Using a toaster for the buns work for those days you donโ€™t wanna turn on the oven!

Karen Lipsey's avatar

Can you think it would taste good to add zucchini to these?
