I'm so into Nuuly right now. I've subscribed to it for over a year but now that I have a baby bump to dress I am especially obsessed!! So many cute bump-friendly options, without having to buy maternity clothes that won't fit in a few months.
And so out on my phone. I just finished listening to "The Anxious Generation" and it was SO EYE OPENING AND GOOD and really put my IG and general phone use into perspective. It also gave me the conviction I needed for to hold firmer boundaries around TV with the boys. I can't wait for your interview with the Blues Clues creator!!
Currently expecting my first baby, and dove headfirst into all of these parenting books and preparation activities that made me feel overwhelmed and like I needed to have everything "together" before she arrives. My friend texted me "Amazon presumably will still deliver overnight after she arrives, and your husband will still be able to drive." I am now applying this to literally every aspect of my life, including work. Not everything has to be done today, and I am so into that!
I love this. My friend Grace's niece was about 7 and she started using nothing as a verb. As in "do you like the new Barbie movie?" "Eh, I nothing it." We asked her what it meant and she said "it means I just don't care." We still use this term regularly 15 years later!
I love that. My daughter (now 8) would always say, “I can’t want to” and it’s just perfect for when you know you probably should do something but you just don’t care enough.
Lately, when I’ve had moments of gratitude for people, I try (TRY) to immediately send them a text. A lot of times it starts with “this is random and kind of awkward but…”. It’s nice to put that love more blatantly into the world.
Just took an IG break and now that I am back I am really into unfollowing people! Who are all these people? Why do they give me FOMO? Is this really the best way to spend my time? Is this healthy? It’s been a GREAT change! (Don’t worry you def made the cut!)
Yes!! I started unfollowing people sometime last year and over time I have found myself not even checking the social media apps daily and no more mindless scrolling. And now when I do check, I only see things I’m interested in, like Caro’s account 😊
So Into a quote about love that I heard on a Peloton ride (Jess King): It isn’t that no matter what you do that I will love you. I will love you no matter how I FEEL. And that is the hard, important work.
It brought a whole new perspective to how I love those around me: my kid, my husband, my family. Their actions could never stop me from loving them, but sometimes my feelings about their actions impact my ability to show my love. And I want to put in the work every day to show my love no matter how I momentarily feel.
I'd love to hear from Karrie Locher! Just like you - another mom who has a great wealth of knowledge to share (hers based on her background as a RN and registered lactation consultant) and who keeps it real on her IG, showing the ups and downs and hilarious moments and tough times of raising kids and babies (5!).
At the moment I'm currently so into the iced strawberry matcha with oat milk at the best local bakery near me. Caro, if book tour brings you to Atlanta, you HAVE to go to Little Tart!
I am really into my teenagers! Everyone gives teens a bad rap (and trust, they are difficult...bigger kids, bigger problems), but they are also fun, funny, intuitive, clever... and it's a new phase of parenting that I am unexpectedly into after being warned for years of how awful it would be. Also v into being able to buy my NYC-based cousin-in-law's La Newyorkina paletas, which are now being sold in my local grocery store in Texas! Immensely proud of her and her hard work (Fany Gerson, also of Fan Fan Doughnuts in BK...she would be a great podcast guest too!)
I'm really into making my house work for us in this season of little kids and not obsessing over everything being clean and Pinterest perfect. I've learned a lot from you and Naptime Kitchen-Kate Strickler. She would also be a wonderful guest on the pod!
Trazadone. I've been having a miserable time with sleep (thanks, hormones!) and I finally discussed it with my doctor. A small dose helps me sleep, which helps make everything better in life. So I suppose the broader thing I'm into is speaking up when you need help and not shying away from what is offered.
I’m so into libraries right now! I’ve used the Libby app for my kindle for a while (which I love), but I’ve recently started going to the library to check out things like cookbooks, home decor books, gardening books, etc!
So into the podcast “Wiser Than Me” with Julia Louis-Dreyfus! JLD is the MVP in everything she does and in this podcast, she interviews iconic older women to learn from them about their lives, aging, etc. Also she calls her mom at the end of each episode to debrief about the interview and it always makes me want to call my mom. (I’m also so into calling my mom.) The second season just started and I look forward to it every week!

You should have your mom on the podcast. I love when you talk about her and feels like she would teach us all so much!
Also I’m really into good old fashion phone calls for work stuff. Screw Zoom and other video platforms, just call my cell.
I agree. Bring Crash on the pod!
Yes- sometimes people are shocked you called. :)
Would love for crash to be on the podcast !
I’m into this poem by Kate J Baer (and I thought some of you would be too!):
Transfiguration
I dreamt myself into a mother
But when I became her, I had to
Dream her back into a woman
Back into a woman
Back into a woman
Again.

I’m into being “unbothered”. Is it something that’s going to matter to me in 5 days? No? Unbothered.

Jess King Collective rise up!

Really into watching my baby eat Salmon and broccoli knowing it will not last!! And also, Kristen Hannah's The Women for when said baby is napping.
Mine are now teenagers and are still eating both!
I could have written this exact same thing - baby loves salmon and broccoli (the meal on Monday night) and I just started that book last night!
lol to this 🤣
What is the wedding reading, can someone please tell me. I am nursings my som and don’t have headphones 🫣
It's the poem in this email called "a marriage story"
Oops, sure enough it is right there! Thank you 😊
Really into not forcing myself to do really hard workouts while on my period. All the chill yoga please

I'm a librarian and this makes me so happy!

Yes!!! Her podcast is so great and the calls to her mom are so heartwarming 💕💕💕
This sounds AMAZING.
