re: gift organization— i have a google spreadsheet that i add a new tab to each year. that way i can look back and see what i've given family/friends in the past. or, i get ideas from it, what did i give my 3 year old nephew?? because now i have another one and feel stuck! i also track spending on it to keep myself in my budget.
Yep, I do this too. Decreases the probability of realizing at the last minute we didn't get my husband's grandma a gift, and also the likelihood that I buy someone the exact same gift two years in a row. Shared with my husband so he can add to it also and see where we still need ideas.
The Christmas List app (its icon is a white wrapped gift with red ribbon). It’s free. Your budget stays year to year per person, but it erases what you bought. You can plan ahead and then mark as purchased, even where you bought (in case return might be needed). It’s seriously the best.

I use to live on the same block as the original Levain (best block/neighborhood ever - W74th St) and it was such a blessing... and a curse lol... l consumed a lot of their GF cookies and there were always tourists lined up outside, especially during the holiday season. Friends and family loved visiting us and getting cookies for themselves and bringing treats home with them. Such a good gift!
Cuba Cheese Shoppe is a core memory from childhood!!! My mom’s family lives nearby and we always made a stop when we visited my grandparents who have now passed. Might have to place an order for the nostalgia!

So torn on Nobody Wants This! I really want to watch it because you gave it such a good review and you have not led me astray. But then the commentary has been about how offensive the stereotypes are , both from writers (see J Grosse on NYT) or friends. I think I will watch and decide. Will definitely be trying the Earlwood spatulas
curious to hear what you say... some of my jewish friends LOVED it, some loved it AND found it offensive, a few found it so offensive that they couldn't even watch it.

It helps you keep everything straight - ideas vs purchased, how much you've spent per person and total, etc. And then the info is always on your phone.
