Quick question – I am working on making this a double batch tomorrow. I wanted to freeze the extra burgers. But I am confused by the make ahead directions and whether I should freeze the burgers cooked or raw. The beginning part says to cook them to make things easier before freezing. But the End of the make head instructions also says to thaw them And cook them — but aren’t they already cooked? Thanks!!

I didn’t figure it out - anyone from Caro’s team have the answer? Thanks!

So sorry we missed this!!! Cook them, cool them, then freeze them. The instructions about cooking them after thawing are just referring to reheating them.

Love this recipe. It’s been in repeat this month. I dice my patty and throw it and the warm sweet potatoes over lettuce and make it a salad. 10/10

We made these burgers last night and they were a hit with everyone - right down to the 8 year old! We are big fans of fresh basil AND sun-dried tomatoes around here, so we figured these would be a hit. We used our Hamilton Beach electric grill for hands-free grilling and simple cleanup. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP4H67F) The fries were great as well! Next time, we plan to add sriracha to the mayo mixture.

Is leaving the egg out preferable to trying it with a flax egg?

I got a new-to-me grill this week and meal planned by going through the grill section of the index… made these last night and they were phenomenal! Would also be great in meatball sub form!

A bit late to the party but this was sooooo yum 😋. I've never used tomato paste in an uncooked sauce nor would I ever think to do it on my own, but what a genius addition to the mayo! The oven version is very convenient and a nice option for hands-off cooking.

Love this burger recipe!! Haven’t made the sweet potatoes with it yet but planning to tonight. Do I line the pan for the fries?!

you don't need to! it will make clean up easier, but you'll get a better browning on your taters if you don't line the pan, and cook them directly on the pan.

AMAZING! Easily the best turkey burger I’ve ever had. The tomato mayo.. amazing flavor that I will use on all kinds of sandwiches. That burger was so moist and flavorful. I double the recipe & it turned out so well. THANK YOU!
