Small tip: Pillsbury makes crescent sheets now, so you don’t have to smoosh the triangles together. They’re in the same cylindrical cans as the regular crescents.
Hi! I made the caramel three times and it kept breaking on me, sort of clumping into sugar separated from the rest, finally I thought I got it but when I turned the rolls out, it was clumpy sugar on the bottom, not caramel. I’m sure it’ll be good but I’m not sure what I did wrong! Ha! Luckily no one will mind.
Ugh oh no! I hate when recipes aren't fool-proof, so I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds to me like your stove might run a bit too hot, or you might have stirred too much, both of which can cause the sugar to crystallize and harden.
These are soo easy and delish! Weekend staple at our house! I just make sure to keep a can of crescent rolls and have now used walnuts as a sub when out of pecans. I half the recipe and cook in a oven proof sauce pan which is perfect for our fam of 4.
