This was a great episode! My kids are 6 and 9, and we still use a lot of the DT tactics to get through tough times. I really liked Angela's tip about supplementing a "trashier" TV show with other educational materials and reframing it as feeding an interest or obsession.
After watching "Quiet On Set", I felt so lost. Are all kid shows like this?!? No. There is still shows like Daniel tiger and blues clues, protecting our kids. Letting our kids stay kids. WHAT A RELIEF! This episode couldn't have come out at a better time. Thank you!
Loved the reassurance that we can keep supplying these simple lessons to cope with life as our kids get older. Also getting to hear all the research behind her shows!
We are still singing “if you have to go potty, stop and go right awayyyyy” so I was SO interested in hearing the magic behind these cute little bops! 🥰
We don't do a ton of screen time because we don't have time 😂 but makes me feel better knowing there are shows to help further development instead of becoming obsessed
Loved learning more about Angela’s story! Downloaded (and already finished) Life Clues and Radical Kindness. So glad to have such educated and passionate people creating content for our babes (since the amount of “candy” TV is wild!)
Was shocked to learn this week that the same woman created Blues Clues AND Daniel Tiger. I've only ever seen Daniel Tiger while babysitting, so also didn't know that it's related to Mr. Rogers, which I was obsessed with as a kid!
Amazing episode but learning that the inspiration for DT was from Daniel the Striped Tiger puppet, which Fred said was the most him was just super heartwarming. AND that’s why he wears a red sweater too! 🥰 Oh and why he doesn’t wear pants, now I can actually answer my husband when he asks for the 100th time 😂
I don’t have children of my own yet but I’ve watched enough littles to have seen Daniel Tiger once or twice. Maybe even binged it during the pandemic to get us through the long days at home. It was meaningful to learn about all the research and thought put into making it. My Wednesdays are so much brighter because of this podcast!!!
Such a great episode! Learned why DT’s mom is the sole pant wearer 😂 but more seriously, I loved the recommendation about how to complement junk shows with other more high-quality sources on the same topic! Also loved hearing about her interactions with Fred ❤️ 🥹the Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Documentary is such a good watch if you haven’t seen it yet!
Oh my goddd that poem has BROKEN me. Cannot stop crying!!! Gonna go stand over my napping 7-month old and beg her never to leave me. Then call my mom and tell her I love her.

I have been meaning to watch that but I'm just too freaked out to make myself do it!

Finally had some time to listen and LOVED learning about the “musical strategies!”

So nice to know that her shows are so well-thought-out with child development in mind!

Learned that there are good screen time options out there. Can’t wait to watch Daniel Tiger with my little
