kind of a cleaning hack, kind of a parenting hack: my 9 year old always leaves her toothbrush, hairbrush, hair ties, and other random stuff on the bathroom counter in the morning when she's done getting ready for school. I've asked her 100+ times to put her things away when she's done with them. Earlier last week, I noticed she did it without being asked, so I wrote her a little note thanking her and complimenting her responsibility and stuck it in her bathroom drawer. She's cleaned up her bathroom stuff every day since!
Cup of Jo fan here! Her previous food writer shared a chicken marinade that I make for anyone that I’m taking a meal to (someone who just had a baby, broken bone, etc.)—it gets rave reviews! Search “cup of Jo chicken marinade” and it’ll pop up (it’s the one with the mayo and lemon juice).
hear hear for the Italian Cooking Music playlist! We host a lot of long table dinners & lunches at our family's winery (like 120 pax) and that playlist always slaps as the perfect convivial soundtrack when we don't have live music.
i absolutely love this one. what's your answer? mine is burning down the house by the talking heads. my sister and i would always beat my mom home from school when we carpooled and she was still at work. we'd blast the talking heads and eat all the snacks we weren't allowed to. i have such a vivid memory of it!!
I spent a long time being afraid of using our cast iron. We got one of those 'chain mail' scrubbers to clean it, and now I use them all the time and find them so easy to cleam! Highly recommend for those that want to move away from Teflon and/or use their cast iron more!

this is a HUGE HACK
Not me reading the SL too quickly and thinking this was a kitchen chat with Joanna Gaines 😅 TBH I like Joanna Goddard more!
i misread their names all the time!!! we'll have to have her on next.
Would love a recipe for the big chocolate mouse bowl that Jo's friend made!!
wait yes, i loved the post about it on CoJ but no recipe!! https://cupofjo.com/2025/01/30/joanna-goddard-birthday-party/
She just linked it on CoJ! It's from New York Times Cooking: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1023296-chocolate-mousse?smid=url-share
Chocolate Mousse is my go-to birthday dessert. I follow that recipe pretty closely but add amaretto!

Ok why are long table lunches low key 10x better than long table dinners
The Cup of Jo comment section is so lovely. I found support there after a miscarriage. I love her content!
i have cried, laughed, guffawed reading the coj comments section. most supportive place on the internet!
My favorite conversation starter q is what is a song that’s tied to a specific moment in your life?

Love COJ! She’s my Internet Big Sister. She led me to Olive Kitteridge and Elizabeth Strout is now my absolute favorite author.
This is just the sweetest thread.
CoJ motherhood around the world is the best!!

so so smart. people are so scared of cast iron but it's the BEST once you get used to it!
Conversation starter: If you could see any musician/band, dead or alive, who would it be?
such a good one. what's your answer?? i think mine would be going to a grateful dead concert with my dad.
Love that! Totally on the same path of seeing someone with your folks - I'd go with Paul Simon with mine! <3
Great question! Mine would be Nina Simone. Sadly, I found her music long after she stopped performing...
Big Big Salad and Cup of Jo fan for years and years now. Thanks for featuring her!
she is such a light <3
I’ve always loved the CoJ Motherhood around the world posts.

Love Cup of Jo! I’ve gotten so many parenthood tips and encouragements from her posts and comments section!
