Hard day in LA. There is a lot of information for people in need of assistance, and for people looking to provide help, here: http://tiny.cc/malan-fire.
I love that you bring archived recipes back up to remind us of the goodness of the past. Some of them I've made and some of them I haven't and I love being reminded of them to make again or refresh my mind of the ones I missed. Thank you!!
You have so many great ins and outs here! I usually take a little bit of the beginning of January to marinate on my intentions for the year, and with that said I feel like it’s been a few years of zero intentions bc well life. BUT one think I’m definitely taking from your list is to have a dock area for the phone and treat it more like a landline - this is genius and so needed! I took your advice months ago and don’t sleep w my phone next to the bed and that’s been a game changer!
525 American has a lower priced cotton oversized fisherman sweater. “Emma”. It grows better over time. Mine that are a few years old have held up extremely well and are longer than the one I got new this year. Currently the only sweater I’m wearing in my quite pregnant stage- I have it in 4 or 5 colors!
Also OUT on ultra processed foods, but always struggle with toddler snacks. Would love to hear what snacks you are packing for the kids instead (aside from Skout, already a staple for us!)
I LOVE the one about treating your phone like a landline! So smart! (She says as she clutches her phone and moves from room to room.)
In: trusting my instincts
Out: overthinking everything
Loved the recent Martha documentary- a lot I didn’t know about her life and love how unapologetic she is about who she is. Badass through and through

TYSM for this link <3
Thanks for the link
Out: spending all my extra time only thinking about training for my next race
In: spending that time thinking about more ways to give to others
Out: being obsessive about the news and what goes on in DC
In: anything but that
Really loved this list of ins and outs! Going to make several of these my ins and outs this year, too! Especially no phone after 8.
no phone after 8 is actually lifechanging

Just have to say, WAY TO GO MATTIS! Watching your child learn to read really feels like magic!

I love and relate to so many of these!
Documentaries: I am a weirdo who likes cult documentaries and if you have not watched Love Has Won on HBO - do. it. now.
In: being more consistent.
Out: being less consistent

My 4 year old daughter and I both love the documentary "Elephant Whisperers." It's touching, beautiful and has become a go-to watch in our house!
Favorite documentary: Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. Available on Netflix.
Loved this one too!
Getting enough sleep (unless the book is really, really worth it) resonates HARD today. So ready for bed but also I need to finish it!

Yes please! Agree with this!
